Day 2: Delhi
This morning, tour the Raj Ghat, Delhi's monument to Mahatma Gandhi, the Red Fort citadel and the Jama Masjid Mosque. After lunch, explore both Old and New Delhi with a drive along the ceremonial avenue, Rajpath, and stops at Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, India Gate and the Diplomatic Enclave. Overnight Hotel..
Day 3: Delhi/ Udaipur
Fly to Udaipur, a serene desert city on the shores of Lake Pichola. Later today (water levels permitting), board a motorboat launch for a scenic lake cruise with enchanting views of Udaipur city and the island of Jag Mandir. Overnight Udaipur.
Day 4: Udaipur
After sightseeing at the Eklingji and Nagda temples, visit the City Palace, the Sahelion-Ki-Bari or "Garden of the Maids of Honor," and the Crystal Gallery. Overnight Udaipur.
Day 5: Udaipur / Jaipur
Fly to Jaipur, and visit the Jantar Mantar Observatory, the City Palace, and Jaipur's most famous building, the Hawa Mahal: "Palace of the Winds." Overnight Jaipur.
Day 6: Jaipur
Visit the Amber Fort to wander among glittering mosaics and the enchanting Hall of Mirrors. Overnight Jaipur.
Day 7: Jaipur/ Agra
Today's journey to Agra travels through peaceful rural India. En route, stop at the abandoned capital of Fatehpur Sikri, and visit the Bulund Darwaza, largest gateway in the world. Overnight Agra.
Day 8: Agra
Greet the sunrise at the Taj Mahal, followed by a tour of the imposing Agra Fort and a stop at the local bazaar. At twilight, return to the Taj to watch the sunset turn its beautiful white marble to rosy pink. Overnight Agra.
Day 9: Agra / Jhansi / Khajurahoa
Travel by train to Jhansi, then continue by road to Khajuraho. En route, visit the small town of Orcha, with its abandoned Hindu temples and 17th-century palace fort. Overnight Khajuraho.
Day 10: Khajuraho
A day of exploration in Khajuraho's exquisite temples, including Kandariya Mahadeo, Lakshmana, Varaha and Adinath. Overnigth Khajuraho.
Day 11: Khajuraho / Varanasi
After a morning visit to Panna National Park, fly to Varanasi, India's holiest city. Overngith Varanasi.
Day 12: Varanasi / Delhi
A boat ride on the sacred River Ganges shows us thousands of Hindus performing rites of prayer along its banks. In nearby Sarnath, where Buddha delivered his first sermon, the city's temples and Archaeological Museum are filled with Buddhist art treasures. This afternoon, return to Delhi by air. Day 13: Depart Delhi
Transfer to the airport to board a homebound flight.
